Directions:
You will be creating a child theme for WordPress, as this is easier than creating your own theme outright. However, we need to make sure you have the proper them installed.
Therefore, find one, or both, of the following themes from the WordPress.org website, and install it on your WordPress website.
Appropriate themes are: Thematic and BlankSlate
Both of these themes will require some modification, via a child theme, to get them to look appropriate for your project.
Thematic is a little easier to work with, as it has some basic styles applied already. BlankSlate will be a little more of a challenge, but gives you more flexibility.
Then activate the theme.
