During the weekly stand up two things happen.
First: You should meet with your teammate(s) to verify everything is on track. You should be talking during the week either through email, in person, discussion forum, etc. But this time is set aside for formal discussions.
Second: You will meet one on one with the instructor to make sure everything is going smoothly, each team member is working toward the project, and things are on task.
These meetings should take less than 10 minutes if you are good at normal communication for the meetings. A running log should be kept to track assignments, completions, issues, changes, etc.
In business, these meeting may occur daily and are often limited to 15 minutes, even if there are a half dozen or more people. So feel free to have additional meetings as needed. They can be done over phone, interactive chat, or in person. I’d not do them over email or SMS/texting as they need to be real time to increase the effectiveness of the communication and allow for timely responses.
