Freelance scam is a little different from how you many normally associate scam, but you will see it is similar in some ways. I bring you this article, because I want you to e financially safe.
What the article looks at, is a scam from the fact that the freelancer is asked to create work, but the “client” never intends to pay. Of course they can “hire you” and fail to turn over payment, but there are other more subtle ways as well. These could include contests, test or sample work, spec work, and the ever popular “percentage of profit”/”equity”.
While sometimes there are “test” that are legitimate, as a freelancer you have to protect yourself. So look to these 9 warning signs of a scam, when someone approaches you.
