‘Net Neutrality is the idea that all data is treated equal, regardless of where it comes from, or what type of data it is.
Over the past few years, certain providers have been fighting to create a tiered system, where they can charge more for different services from different people.
There is an in inherent problem with this however. Mainly that the companies who provide our Internet access also create competing products. (Comcast creates videos and has video on demand services, Bright House and AT&T have phone, and all have television).
If they can charge different people/companies different rates, because of content type, then that means that innovation and competitors will be stifled. Watch this short video to learn more about it.
