Creating an account on Twitter is fairly easy. However, it helps if you have several things in place before hand, including a profile photo, a photo for your header, your description (160 character max), and optionally a background image.

Well actually, all of them are optional.

However, who wants a boring old Twitter account. People want to see you. They want to get a feel for who you are when they consider following you.

Therefore, having good information and photos are a must if you want more people to follow you.

In this video, I recommend having the following ready:

  • profile photo
  • description of yourself (in under 160 characters)
  • header image
  • location

By doing so, it can help you be ready to create your Twitter account in under 10 minutes. Heck, the video takes only 10 minutes, and that includes the explanations. So watch, learn, and apply.

Assistant Professor

Walter Wimberly is an Assistant Professor at a regional college in Tennessee, teaching Computer Science in the Software Engineering track. He works as a student advisor, oversees curriculum changes, develops new courses, and manages the advisory panel.
Walter taught full time for about 7 years, before going back into “industry” as a full stack Software Developer for a dozen years. There he focused on web based projects coding in JavaScript/jQuery and utilizing the Bootstrap CSS Framework on the front-end, and coding in PHP, ASP/ASP.Net, SQL on the back-end.

Since he loves teaching, he taught as an adjunct web and digital media classes for eight (8) years, while working in industry, and has since returned to teaching full time.
