If you’ve ever opened a file in Excel that came from another file, whether it was a CSV or something else, you probably have experienced the problem of having too many of the columns cutting off part of your data.
Now many people know that if you move your mouse cursor to the top of the column headings, and put it on the line that separates the two columns, you can click – hold – and resize your columns by dragging your cursor to the left or right. However, you are guessing when you do this. You may make the column too wide, or too short.
Instead, you can double-click on the column to fix its size to the largest cell in that column. But what if you wanted to fix your entire spreadsheet. If your spreadsheet has dozens of columns, then this would take too long.
Instead, click in the very top left row in the box that has no letters or numbers within it. If you double-click there, your entire worksheet is selected. Then double-click on between any two columns. Because all the columns are selected, you will resize all the columns. This way you can automatically resize the entire spreadsheet.
